Is Cesamet Right for Me?
Every person is different, but Cesamet has worked to reduce nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy for many people.1 If the medicines you're already taking for these symptoms aren't giving you the relief you need, Cesamet could help.2 Ask your health care team if Cesamet is right for you.
In scientific studies, patients who took Cesamet had 3 types of benefits. They vomited less often, felt less nauseous, and were able to eat more than patients who did not take Cesamet.1 Patients who got these benefits did so quickly—as early as the first day of Cesamet treatment.1 They also continued to benefit over the entire 5-day course of Cesamet treatment after chemotherapy.1
Cesamet is a medicine for nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy. It is used when other drugs have not been able to control these symptoms well enough.2
Do not take Cesamet if you are allergic to any of its ingredients or any other cannabinoids.2
Cesamet affects people differently. You should take Cesamet around an adult you trust. This is most important when you first take Cesamet or if your doctor changes your dose.2
Your doctor might watch you for signs of abusing Cesamet. If you or a family member has ever abused drugs or had a mental illness, you might have a higher risk of abusing Cesamet.2
